this isn’t entirely surprising, as Piet Mondrian is the modern artist whose work i am most intensely drawn towards.
his are the kind of paintings that don’t really translate to screen or page, as scale is such an important element of their impact. vibrant colours and intersections locked in seemingly balanced compositions tend to pip and pop with optical energy, shifting all about before the eye.
Op Art before its time, and with more soul.
